Established in June 1994, OFA stands as the premier association for Asian Food Importers in Northern California. Our membership extends across California, reaching even beyond to Portland and Seattle. Our primary goal is to foster collaboration among businesses and facilitate connections with regulatory bodies such as the FDA, USDA, and US Customs, aiming for enhanced mutual understanding and fair business relationships.

Moreover, we are deeply committed to public education, particularly in matters concerning food safety. For instance, during the SARS and Covid-19 outbreaks, we partnered with the Alameda County Health Department to sponsor health courses. Our renowned "Excellent Brand" initiative has effectively incentivized manufacturers to uphold rigorous standards of quality control and management.

Beyond our industry initiatives, OFA actively supports the community through various endeavors. Following disasters, we organize fundraisers and food donations to aid those in need. Since 1996, we have proudly sponsored the annual food giveaway hosted by the San Francisco Chinese Newcomers Service Center, benefiting 3,000 families, along with supporting the Oakland Chinatown Salvation Army.
